Friends of Jaclyn

Not long ago, you couldn’t give away tickets to a University of Cincinnati football game. The Bearcats’ home field, Nippert Stadium, sat nearly empty on Saturdays in the fall. And by this time of year, UC fans were mercifully talking basketball, not football. But this year is different. With the Bearcats 11-0, ranked 5th in the country, and threatening to crash the BCS bowl party, Nippert Stadium has been selling out. The football players now expect to win. And one of the main reasons for their success, they say, is a little boy who stands on the sidelines, a nasty scar snaking across his head. From Cincinnati, Keith O’Brien has this story.

This program aired on December 5, 2009. The audio for this program is not available.
