In Bill Littlefield’s interview with Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Cole says the ongoing labor issues mean newly drafted players may have difficulty signing contracts.

“It is a strange situation.... the league is still trying to find out what will work with in the confines of anti-trust legislation and exemptions and all that goes with it.”

During the first night of the NFL Draft on Thursday, commissioner Roger Goodell was loudly booed by the fans at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Cole doesn’t believe fans’ annoyance will do anything to sway labor negotiations.

“I don’t think the fans’ displeasure will change the minds of people haggling over billions of dollars. There’s too much at stake.”
