Music On Only A Game

Music On Only A Game1967/1972/1975-The Finish Line (from Curse of the Bambino Cast Recording, Beach House Records, 2001)

Sweeeeeeeeeeet Car-o-liiiiiiine (Bah, bah, bah!) Good times never seemed so gooooood. (So good! So…good??? So…gulp).

A couple years ago, my family and I were watching a Neil Diamond Concert (from 1975, I think), and Neil was belting out Sweet Caroline in his uniquely Diamondesque fashion. In the middle of the first chorus, my adorable daughter looked up at me and asked "Why doesn’t anyone sing 'So good, so good, so good'?"

It was an Art Linkletter moment.

Santa on the Run by Davie Allan and the Arrows (from Fuzz for the Holidays, Way Cool, 2004)

Sure he's on the run. It's the year of union-busting, and the elves are majorly PO'd.

Eye of the Tiger by Paul Anka (from Rock Swings, Verve, 2005)

This was almost the Tonight Show Theme. Uhhh, wait…no it wasn't.

Fenerbahce Anthem (from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHDX59LStfo)

Big shout out to our Yellow Canaries fans out there. (Note from The Only A Game Department of Redundancy Department and from The Audubon Society: it's probably unnecessary to use the modifier "yellow" when mentioning canaries)

Bagpipe Music by Albannoch (from a live field recording by Only A Game's Karen Given)

This tune reminds me of something…but what is it? Siouxsie and the Banshees? No. Big Country? No. Oh, yeah, that group of bagpipers I saw at the Boston Garden in 1978.
