Sounds Of The U.S. - Japan Gold Medal Soccer Match

You could hear a lot of things outside of Wembley Stadium in London before the U.S. women's soccer team took the field against Japan Thursday evening. Not surprisingly, there was the chant of "U-S-A! U-S-A!" ringing out from American fans.

Pamela Adamway, a fan originally from New York who lives in Miami, was pretty confident before the game.

"We're here because the U.S.A. is about to slam Japan in the much, much, much-need retribution from last year's World Cup game," she said. "I remember watching the game last year and being really, really sad when we made it all the way to penalty kicks and then got eliminated. But I know today's a different day."

In Jetlag, a sports bar nearby, there was a sizable Japanese contingent. Yuka, a Japanese fan who grew up in the U.S. and Switzerland, was cheering on her home country.

Another Japan fan, Sota Kumata, was disappointed after the game. "I was kind of expecting Japanese ladies to win," he said. "It was quite emotional in the end when we lost."
