I sent a link to the story of Arvind Mahankali's 2013 Scripps Spelling Bee win to a Rabbi I know. His response to Mr. Mahankali's difficult final word, "knaidel" (the Yiddish word for "matzah ball")? "Poor Arvind! Well, at least he lives in Queens!" Arvind's just a mensch from the shtetl, as far as we're concerned.
