On Tuesday night, Southern Illinois lost to Murray State. It was the eighth loss in just 10 games for the SIU men's basketball team, otherwise known as the Salukis, and head coach Barry Hinson's postgame remarks showed his obvious frustration. Coach Hinson lost his temper at times during the six-minute press conference, but he didn't lose his southern sensibilities. He stopped to say "bless you" when one of the reporters sneezed and included some truly charming colloquialisms.  Like this...

We're soft, we've been enabled. For whatever reason, I've got a bunch of mama's boys right now. We just won't buck up and bow our necks and we gotta get through that.

Since his remarks went viral, Coach Hinson has apologized for calling out one of his players by name, but says he stands behind everything else he said. SIU's athletic director doesn't seem too concerned. He said the majority of fans enjoy Hinson's "passion" and "energy." In this season of giving, they probably also enjoyed the following:

I swear I thought one time one of our players said, 'Merry Christmas.' I thought it was a gift.

Merry Christmas to you too, coach.
