President Bush yesterday warned Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to admit U.N. weapons inspectors or face the consequences. When asked what those consequences might be, Bush responded "He'll find out." Weapons inspectors have not been welcomed in Iraq since 1998, but President Bush says it is crucial now to determine if the Middle Eastern nation is developing a nuclear or biological arsenal. This hour, Brandeis Professor Kanan Makiya discusses the latest stand-off between the U.S. and Iraq and the possibility that the war on terrorism will expand beyond Afghanistan to America's old nemisis.

Guests:

Kanan Makiya, Professor of Middle East studies at Brandeis University

author of "Republic of Fear: The Politics of Modern Iraq" and "The Rock: A Seventh Century Tale of Jerusalem"
Patrick Clawson, editor of "Iraq Strategy Review: Options for U-S Policy"

This program aired on November 27, 2001.
