Judge Designates Abu Ghraib Prison A Crime Scene

Today a military judge declared the Abu Ghraib prison a crime scene that cannot be dismantled. In a May 24th, 2004 speech at the Army War College, President Bush had offered to dismantle the facility to help remove the stain of torture from the new Iraq.

Retired Rear Admiral John Hutson, former Judge Advocate General of the Navy, and currently dean and president at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire, explains the legal significance of designating the prison a crime scene.
