By the 1980s however, the once-60s liberal had embraced Orthodox Judaism and the right wing of the Republican Party. Medved describes himself now as a theocon.

America's center of political gravity has moved from blue to red. And so has Medved. The left, he says, is pursuing a "No" frontier and giving Americans a "No" deal. George W. Bush instead, Medved argues, pushes a vision that's winning.
