Catastrophe is unfolding along the Gulf Coast now, as the toppled offshore oil rig story there went this week from bad to much, much worse.

Oil still is gushing from the sea floor well. Slicks are reported hitting beach and marsh. The Navy has been called in. The disaster may be worse than Exxon Valdez.

On Capitol Hill, Goldman Sachs gets grilled. Word on criminal charges is brewing against the bankers. And Republicans blink, for now, on financial reform.

Meanwhile, a Greek debt crisis mounts. And Florida Gov. Charlie Crist bolts the GOP.
