After economic meltdown, bailout, foreclosure, and pain, voters got their chance to swing their stick at the ballot box yesterday.

Big lessons all over, in primaries and a special election.

Arlen Specter, Republican turned late-life Democrat, got the boot. Tea Party hero Rand Paul trounced his establishment Republican rival in Kentucky. John Murtha’s old seat went solid Democrat in Pennsylvania, despite a big GOP push.

Party mainliners were under the gun.  And now, nobody is secure in Washington.
