Arts and Humanities Medal-Winners on On Point

Today, President Obama awarded the 2010 National Medal of Arts and Humanities to 20 honorees at the White House.

We've had several of the honorees on our show (some quite recently); they're great hours for another listen:

Music legend Quincy Jones joined us in November, and jazz great Sonny Rollins in March of last year.

We didn't score the famously media-shy Harper Lee, but we did a show on the 50th anniversary of "To Kill a Mockingbird," last year.

We just spoke to Joyce Carol Oates about her new book on loss and widowhood, and we've also spoken to novelist Philip Roth and historian Gordon Wood.

This program aired on March 2, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
