If you follow On Point on Facebook and Twitter — which, if you don't, we don't know who you are or why you're here, really — you might have noticed recently that we've become verified people (TM). What does that mean, exactly? Well, for starters, it means our Twitter account, @OnPointRadio, gets a fancy blue check mark next to our name. And, more specifically, it means that our account is considered to actually be what we say it is. (That is, the Twitter account for a National Public Radio program). It also seems to mean that a whole mess of folks who never thought it was worthwhile following us have suddenly become very interested in joining our merry band of Twitter followers. That's right — ever since our verified (TM) checkmark, we've noticed a sharp uptick in followers. We're not tweeting any more or less than we usually do, but we are getting loads of folks jumping aboard the SS @OnPointRadio. Does the checkmark mean legitimacy? Maybe. But while you're debating that, consider Taka the Armadillo as pictured above. And enjoy the verified (TM) weekend!
