Alex Kingsbury

Producer, On Point

Alex Kingsbury is producer for On Point.

From 2004 until 2011 he worked for U.S. News and World Report on various beats, including higher education, the Iraq War, the intelligence community, and national security.

His cover stories for U.S. News focused on topics including the Iraq War, higher education, trends in E-learning, and World War II history. He traveled to Iraq three times for reporting assignments in 2007 and 2008. Kingsbury has appeared frequently on television and radio, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, and the Diane Rehm Show. For several years, he appeared every Sunday afternoon on Washington’s WTOP radio in a regular segment about national security news.

His articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post Express, National Geographic Traveler, the Dallas Morning News, and been distributed by the New York Times and Congressional Quarterly. In 2010 and 2011, he also the News Editor for World War II Magazine. He has also written for the Watchdog Project, an initiative of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.

Kingsbury holds a bachelor’s in history from George Washington University and a Master’s in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A native of Maine, he now lives and works in Boston, Mass.
