Karen Shiffman
Karen Shiffman has been with On Point since it went on air in 2001. Over the years, she’s produced hundreds of hours of live programming. Her daily routine includes opening at least 100 emails and forty packages of books.
She’s a political junkie, spearheading On Point’s political programming and organizing coverage of the 2004 and 2008 Democratic and Republican conventions. She once buttonholed Jimmy Carter and got the only interview with the former president in sea of microphones. In the spirit of bipartisanship, she also chased Karl Rove down the hallway. Anything to get the story.
Before coming to On Point, she spent more than a decade as a television producer at WCVB-TV and WBZ-TV.
She’s a rabid Red Sox fan and an enthusiastic home cook. And she almost went to work for Martha Stewart, a fellow Barnard College graduate. Karen also holds a master’s in psychology from Harvard.
