Boston Med Schools Lag In 'Social Mission,' Study Finds
ResumeThis is one ranking of medical schools where Boston-area institutions graze the bottom.
A study published Monday by George Washington University devised a scoring system to evaluate the "social mission" of the nation's medical schools — and Massachusetts did not fare well. The study evaluated schools based on the following: percentage of graduates who practice primary care, percentage of graduates who practice in rural or other underserved areas, and percentage of graduates who are minorities.
We explore the study in greater detail and ask medical schools to weigh in.
