Thirty-six million vehicles cross the Bourne and Sagamore bridges to Cape Cod each year. This week marks the 75th anniversary of the construction of the bridges — the gateway to "summer" for so many in Massachusetts.
Today we remember the highly accomplished but little known architect who designed those bridges, Ralph Adams Cram.
Guests:
- Ethan Anthony, architect and author of "The Architecture of Ralph Adams Cram and his Office"
- Karen Jeffrey, reporter for Cape Cod Times
- David Scudder, grandson of Ralph Adams Cram
This program aired on June 24, 2010.
