Our week-in-review panel discusses the president's tax deal extending tax cuts to the rich, which was opposed by many members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation. We'll also look at Senator Scott Brown's nuanced position on the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

And we'll examine a decision by the state's highest court allowing prosecutors to indict a suspect's DNA as a way to prevent the statute of limitations from expiring. Finally, we'll look at the Shapiro family's decision to forfeit $625 million dollars it reaped through disgraced New York financier Bernie Madoff.

Finally, at the end of this segment, we sift through the Radio Boston mailbox and review some of your emails, online comments and phone calls.

Guests:

  • Bob Oakes, host, WBUR's Morning Edition
  • Peter Canellos, editorial page editor, Boston Globe
  • Susan Tracy, former State Representative

This segment aired on December 10, 2010.
