Patrick Proposes Big Budget Cuts

In what will be the first step in a long bureaucratic process on Beacon Hill, Gov. Deval Patrick unveiled his proposal for the state's budget for fiscal year 2012 on Wednesday.

The governor wants to cut $570 million from this year's budget. Patrick proposed cuts to scores of programs in order to get to the $30.5 billion total.
