Bracing for a 25 percent budget cut, teacher layoffs and increased class sizes, the Boston Arts Academy - this city's only public school dedicated solely to the arts - has seen a record 800 students audition for just 150 spots.

Radio Boston's Kirk Carapezza attended this year's auditions for spots at the school.
