Web Extra: Your Patriot's Day Weekend In The Arts
ResumeWe at Radio Boston will be in the studio all day on Monday, but if you have a three-day weekend, you might be hunting around for something to do. We get some great arts picks for this weekend from David Wildman, freelance arts reporter.
- The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl at the ICA: Starting on April 15, you can reconnect with your youth (or your parents' youth) by visiting the ICA's new exhibit featuring art made out of records — and even a few you can actually listen to.
- The Noise Celebrates 30 Years at the Midway Cafe: Local bands will come together to say happy birthday to The Noise, a Boston music magazine. Rick Berlin and The Grownup Noise are set to perform on Saturday, April 16th.
- The Comedy Studio's 15th Anniversary: Comedians Will Smalley, Mike Bent and Eugene Mirman will make appearances at the show this Sunday night in Harvard Square.
Meghna had some extra picks this week:
- Muppet Triple Feature at the Brattle Theatre: If you can't get enough of Kermit and Fozzie, you can see "The Muppet Movie," "The Great Muppet Caper" and "The Muppets Take Manhattan" on Sunday — or check out Jim Henson's darker works, "Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth" on Friday night or on Monday. Who can say no to David Bowie and muppet goblins?
- Dom at the Paradise: On Friday night, you can see this Worcester-based band perform live. Listen to the song "Jesus" to get a feel for their sound.
