No, it wasn't some elaborate trick. You really did feel an earthquake.

Many Bostonians were awoken from the mid-afternoon doldrums by a 5.9 magnitude earthquake. It reportedly struck northwest of Richmond, Va., but its affects could be felt up and down the East Coast.

You've probably seen blizzards, flooding and extreme heat, but for many in New England, it was the first time they'd felt an earthquake.
