"We had our chances."

That's all Red Sox Manager Terry Francona could say Tuesday after the Sox fell to the Yankees by a score of 5-2 at Fenway Park. The Yankees won the game thanks in large part to a powerful performance by pitcher CC Sabathia, who struck out 10 Red Sox batters.

Incredibly, last night was just the third loss for the Sox in 13 games against the Yankees this year, which is not too shabby. With the win, though, New York pulled within a half game of the Sox for first place in the division.
