Monday night the Republican candidates for president will debate in Florida. If it's anything like last week's debate, at the center will be Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.

Both candidates have occupied the top office of state government, but from very different states with very different politics and economies. We take a deeper look at those states, and at the gubernatorial records of Romney and Perry.

Guests:

  • Craig Sandler, general manger, State House News Service
  • Wade Goodwyn, correspondent, NPR National Desk

This segment aired on September 12, 2011.
