Maine Senator Olympia Snowe will not seek reelection this November, ending a 33 year career in politics.

Her reason? Partisan gridlock and what she called "my way or the highway ideologies." A Republican, Sen. Snowe has been a moderate holdout in what has become an increasingly polarized climate in Washington.

Guest:

  • A. J. Higgins, state house reporter, Maine Public Broadcasting Network.

This segment aired on February 29, 2012.
