The Northampton-based band Winterpills didn't have an agenda when they began playing together in the winter of 2003. They were a small group of friends, heartbroken and haunted by friends and lovers lost.

Nine years later, they have five albums under their belt and have been called "one of the most cherished pop bands in the world" by Rolling Stone magazine. Their latest album is called "All My Lovely Goners," and they joined us in-studio to share songs from the album and explain why this is the record they've been trying to make all along.

Winterpills will be performing on Sunday, July 15 as part of the Green River Festival in Greenfield and at Club Passim in Cambridge on August 10.

Guests:

  • Philip Price, singer, songwriter and guitarist of Winterpills
  • Flora Reed, singer and keyboardist of Winterpills

This segment aired on July 11, 2012.
