"Jaws," the Steven Spielberg thriller from 1975, is arguably the original summer blockbuster, and continues to thrill, scare and excite audiences today.

On Martha's Vineyard today, where the movie was filmed, thousands of people are gathering for JAWSFEST, a four-day tribute and fan reunion.

Some of the original actors will be there, including the stuntwoman and actress Susan Backlinnie. Backlinnie played Chrissie, the young, sexy swimmer whose close encounter with the shark did not end well.

Joe Alves, the film's production designer, will also be in attendance. Alves not only designed the movie's mechanical shark, but he also originally scouted Martha's Vineyard as a possible location for shooting the movie.

Jawsfest: The Tribute is taking place from Aug. 9-12 on Martha's Vineyard.

Guests:

This segment aired on August 9, 2012.
