Though it may not feel like it, today is the first day of spring. It's been a cabin-feverish kind of winter, but in honor of the coming warmth and sun we thought we'd share a little ramble through nature with you. To celebrate all creatures great  and small... Really, really, really small.

We'll take a look at ants, which are vitally important to the New England ecosystem.

Guests

Aaron Ellison, senior research fellow at Harvard, and co-author of "A Field Guide to the Ants of New England"

This segment aired on March 20, 2013.
