Police Tracking Cell Phones
ResumeWe now know a lot about how the NSA spies on electronic communication. Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the NSA is even spying on the online role-playing game World of Warcraft, according to documents from Edward Snowden.
But deep electronic surveillance isn't limited to the nation's top digital spy agency. This week, Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey released a report detailing how local law enforcement agencies are tracking tens of thousands of cell phone calls and data, all without a warrant.
Markey is calling for broader oversight about what data gets released, and in what circumstances.
