Tuesday at Symphony Hall, Mayor Marty Walsh will deliver his second annual State of the City address. Walsh is expected to introduce an ambitious agenda as part of what he is calling a "year of action." On that agenda is affordable housing, community policing initiatives, economic development and, of course, public education.
Boston Public Schools have been back in the spotlight recently. Last week, Superintendent Tommy Chang said that the district could face a $50 million budget deficit, or "shortfall," next year. Tuesday night, a coalition of parents and students will be protesting cuts to Boston Public Schools outside of Symphony Hall.
