Schubert's musical allegory, "Winterreise," or "Winter Journey," guides us through the journey of a heartbroken young man as he contemplates loss.

Fourteen-time Grammy nominee Ian Bostridge is obsessed with the "Winterreise." He's author of "Schubert's Winter Journey: Anatomy Of An Obsession." Over the last three decades, Bostridge has performed the work more than 100 times worldwide.

Ian Bostridge will be performing "Winterreise" on Friday, Oct. 28 at the New England Conservatory with pianist Thomas Ades, as part of the Celebrity Series of Boston.
