Julia Child is an iconic American chef. She hosted a number of TV shows, some even shot right in her kitchen in Cambridge. And while Child's story has often been described as one of a lot of passion and luck, she also was someone who — through determination and grit — reinvented herself later in life.

Her great-nephew Alex Prud'Homme writes about Child's "second act," as he calls it, in the new book, "The French Chef In America."

Guest

Alex Prud'Homme, great nephew of Julia Child, co-author of her memoir "My Life In France," and author of the new book "The French Chef In America: Julia Child's Second Act." He tweets @apfrenchchef.

This segment aired on November 22, 2016.
