Subject Of SJC Case Arrested For Robbery, Attack

A man who was at the center of a landmark Supreme Judicial Court decision about immigrant detention is back in the news after being arrested for assault and battery and unarmed robbery.

Sreynoun Lunn was the plaintiff in Lunn vs. Commonwealth — the case earlier this year where the SJC ruled that Massachusetts law enforcement does not have the authority to keep someone in custody based solely on detention requests from federal immigration officials.
