Twenty years ago, moviegoers met Will Hunting, a working-class janitor from Southie with a chip on his shoulder, who was also a math genius.

"Good Will Hunting" made $225 million, won two Academy Awards, launched Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to stardom, and, as film critic Ty Burr writes for The Boston Globe, gave birth to a new genre: the modern Boston movie.
