Next month marks the three-year anniversary of ultra-marathoner Scott Jurek's record breaking run of the Appalachian Trial. He ran from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. It took him 46 days, 8 hours, 7 minutes.

Jurek has won almost all of the elite events in ultra-running. He won the Western State's 100-Mile Endurance Run a record seven times. But running the Appalachian Trail was a different kind of challenge. Scott and his wife, Jenny, have written about it in their book "North: Finding My Way While Running the Appalachian Trail."
