Rhode Island’s PawSox Will Move To Worcester

The Pawtucket Red Sox will relocate to Worcester, the city’ announced on Friday. The city will welcome the team, a AAA affiliate of the Red Sox, with a new stadium.

However, Pawtucket did not let go of its minor league baseball team without making a last pitch for them to stay. In a statement Friday, the city said it had “continued to have what was thought to be ongoing productive conversations with the PawSox as recently as Wednesday evening.”
