Just walk 4 blocks, about 10 minutes, west down River Street towards the Charles River. If you are coming by car, we are just off of Memorial Drive and offer plenty of free parking. What’s unique about the River Street Whole Foods? We just completed a major renovation in the autumn of 2008 adding a gelato bar, a full service coffee bar, a shiny new bread oven and cake case, an antipasti bar, and a pizza station. Also, we are one of only three Whole Foods to have beer and wine, and one of a few to have in-store smoked seafood. And best of all, you don’t have to take your groceries to your car because we have a parcel pick up system that will send them down to your car automatically. So stop on by River Street Whole Foods in Cambridge and check out our new look.

Zing Pizza
Did you get the memo? Circle pizzas are out…oblong is in! At Zing Pizza, our menu is always rotating. You can find four pizzas at a given time: The Jonathan Doe (our version of a basic cheese pizza) plus three other Zing original recipes. Our menu changes depending on what is in season, what is popular, and what we feel like making. Our sauce is organic, our chicken is free from artificial hormones and antibiotics, our vegetables, when possible are local. We compost or recycle our waste, and produce very little actual trash. We are also excited to offer roti as an alternative to subs, burritos, sandwiches, and even pizza. Our roti comes direct from Trinidad and is based on a secret recipe that Kizzy taught us. We CAN tell you that it involves a flatbread that is stuffed with curried vegetables, but to learn more you’ll have to try it.

Weehah! Greeting Cards and Invitations
Sometimes they’re sweet whimsical, even flirty. Sometimes they’re elegant, thoughtful, and understated. Whatever wish you want to send, weehah! cards are for any occasion or no occasion at all.
When I moved to Boston in 1996 for graduate school, I started working with papers and stamps as a hobby. I then moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, where I taught high school for seven years. While I loved my time in the classroom, I must admit that I was distracted by how much I loved pairing words with images, playing with white (or not so white) space, and designing invitations for people’s special events. I eventually left teaching to pursue weehah! more fully, and started selling at markets, shows, and shops.
Now I’m back in New England, closer to my family and the water. Each day, I have a new card idea – sometimes while standing in line at the store, sometimes while falling asleep. I have a studio in my Newton home, where I can (and do) play for hours with colorful cardstock, sweet stamps, interesting inks, and, of course, sparkle. Horizons for Homeless Children
Horizons for Homeless Children helps children learn how to play, to share, to read, and to enjoy exploring their worlds. We help parents learn how to be nurturing and involved in the growth and development of their children, and help them learn and grow through job training, GED and college courses. We help to stabilize families so that they can weather any crisis, and thus help to break the cycle of homelessness that too often occurs. Since 1994, more than 1,000 children have been served by the Community Children’s Centers. We have recruited and trained more than 9,500 volunteer Playspace Activity Leaders since 1990, giving thousands of children living in family shelters in Greater Boston the opportunity to play, learn and to just be kids. We have training sessions for service providers in Massachusetts and participate in local and national conferences. We work with public officials in state and federal government to increase the resources available to young homeless children and to change the conditions that lead to family homelessness.
