On this week's show, we presented a roundtable discussion on the world of lifelong-learning and the impact that it has at any age. The discussion participants included John Ebersole, Associate Provost and Dean at the Division of Extended Education at Boston University; Dorothy Durkin, Associate Dean at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and Kay J. Kohl, Executive Director of University Continuing Education Association, the organization that represents continuing education providers in Washington and across the nation.

We followed the roundtable discussion with a conversation with Bill Littlefield, host of NPR's sports magazine show "Only a Game." In addition to being a show host, Bill Littlefield is also an educator and a writer, but most importantly, he is a husband and the father of two girls. It appears that these last three aspects have come together in his latest work, a novel titled "The Circus In The Woods." We spoke to him about his new book and his life as a writer.

This program aired on December 2, 2001.
