2005 African Presidential Roundtable
ResumeThis show featured a panel discussion held at the conclusion of the third annual African Presidential Roundtable which is sponsored by Boston University's African Presidential Archives and Research Renter.
Thirteen African former heads of state were joined at closed doors sessions in Johannesburg, South Africa by U.S. business, academic and government leaders to discuss issues impacting United States-African relations. Topics included the recent report by the Commission for Africa, established by U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, negative perceptions of Africa in the U.S. media, and who is accountable for enhancing African economic development.
The panel discussion which followed the closed door talks was held at Boston University's School of Management and was moderated by long-time Boston TV news anchor, Liz Walker.
