This week, WBUR reporter Zeninjor Enwemeka and WBUR photographer Jesse Costa took a look at how Bostonians across the city are coping with the historic winter weather. Below are some pictures from their trips to Andrew Square, Dudley Square and Maverick Square.
Larry Regan, a mechanical technician for the commuter rail, had just finished a graveyard shift removing ice from commuter line trains. "I know people are aggravated with the service and everything, but they gotta give us a little bit of time to get caught up with the weather because we haven’t gotten a break," said Regan, who was at Andrew Square. Many people in Dudley Square complained the roads and sidewalks around Roxbury have not been cleared properly. "I was tired of being in the house," Sheridan said, after she made her way through a narrow path. "You have to get out to air … to breathe." "A lot people don't have a 4-foot pathway for coming and going," he said, referring to a city ordinance requiring a minimum path of 42 inches be cleared from sidewalks after a snowstorm.
