Gloucester Police Chief Allegedly Destroyed Evidence In Probe Of His Conduct

Gloucester Police Chief Leonard Campanello gained attention around the country for the so-called "Angel Program" — a police effort to help drug addicts, rather than punish them.

On Monday, Gloucester Mayor Sefatia Romeo Thekenmayor announced she is is starting the process required to terminate Campanello's contract — the mayor says Campanello has been the subject of an investigation into inappropriate conduct and that there is evidence the chief destroyed evidence.
