In the death penalty trial of admitted carjacker Gary Lee Sampson, jurors on Tuesday heard two jarring accounts, recorded just before and just after Sampson was arrested at the end of a week-long killing spree. Both accounts come from Sampson himself. And the defense and prosecution offer sharply different interpretations.
