WBUR’s children’s podcast Circle Round has partnered with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for a second year to present a concert of storytelling and music for children and families.

Last June, the two joined forces to perform a live show of three folktales to a packed audience at Tanglewood. This year, the annual family concert has gone completely digital, co-hosted by the BSO’s Thomas Wilkins and Circle Round’s Rebecca Sheir.

The concert features three new folktales, adapted by Rebecca Sheir, and three new scores, composed by Eric Shimelonis. Each story features a different BSO solist: bassist Benjamin Levy, violist Danny Kim, and tuba player Mike Roylance. The stories are called “Every Other Friday” (originally from Mexico) “The Farmer’s Coin” (a Korean tale) and “Naming the Tree” (inspired by stories told in Africa).
