Apply To Be WBUR's Next Arts Reporting Fellow

The ARTery is accepting applications for its Arts Reporting Fellowship.

Fellows are embedded with WBUR’s Arts and Culture Team and report on local arts and culture news in Boston. The fellow will work with the ARTery’s editors to develop local reporting skills, enterprise stories and radio technique.

Assignments will include covering breaking news stories, writing local arts guides, crafting social media posts and reporting short news stories for broadcast.

Working in tandem with the arts reporters and editors, the fellow will generate and pitch story ideas. In addition to expanding their writing and reporting skills, the fellow will learn to use the newsroom’s digital publishing platform and the content managing platform. They will also learn how to record and edit broadcast-quality audio.

Fellowship and Application Details

  • The fellowship consists of 25 hours a week for six months (with the potential to extend to one year). Compensation is $2,500 a month.
  • The fellow will be based in Boston; when appropriate and safe, reporting may be conducted in person.
  • The fellowship will begin in late November or early December 2020.
