Biogen Outgoing CEO Says Co. To Shutdown Its Oldest, Smallest Drug Manufacturing Site In Cambridge

Big changes face Biogen, the largest biotech company in Massachusetts. The Cambridge-based company employing nearly 3,000 people in Mass. makes drugs for multiple sclerosis and is developing a drug for Alzheimer's.

But, it's shutting down its drug manufacturing in Massachusetts and laying off workers. It's also losing its top executive. CEO George Scangos, who is stepping down after six years on the job, joined Morning Edition.
