There was a time when a Masters of Business Administration degree, or MBA, was the ticket for young entrepreneurs to win their place in the world of finance. That time is quickly going, according to a new article in the Boston Business Journal.

Businesses, particularly those in high tech, now want graduates with specific skill sets -- not a general business education. According to the story, enrollment in MBA programs in Massachusetts is down, a jolting 40 percent at prestigious Babson College.

The article's author, BBJ's Greg Ryan, joined Morning Edition.

This segment aired on March 10, 2017.
