Treating Allergies To Ease Asthma

Asthma runs in my family, and I have stark childhood memories of my mother rushing my younger brother to the ER in the middle of the night to treat his asthma attacks. So I found Joanne Silberner's NPR piece on allergies and asthma today fascinating. She reports that many kids with asthma frequently have undiagnosed allergies that, if treated, could greatly ease their asthma symptoms and reduce those trips to the ER.

Now that allergy season has kicked in, how are your kids doing? Do you notice their allergies morphing into asthma? Do you find that treating the allergies can indeed prevent an asthma attack? Let us know.
