Is National Reform In Kingsdale's Future?

In a not-so-subtle hint, Massachusetts Health Connector executive Jon Kingsdale, in his resignation letter to Connector board colleagues Thursday, writes: "I hope to play some role in national healthcare reform and to continue working with each of you," according to today's Washington Post.

The Post also notes that Kingsdale, the founding chief of the Connector Authority, also takes a little jab at former governor Mitt Romney, who signed the state's sweeping health reform plan into law but has recently been trashing national health reform.

"We should all feel very proud of having created the model for national health reform," Kingsdale wrote. "The power of the Bay State's example is enormously consequential. I believe that national reform would not have happened without it."

WBUR's Sacha Pfeiffer reports that Gov. Deval Patrick immediately named Glen Shor, assistant secretary for health care policy at the state’s Executive Office for Administration and Finance, as Kingsdale's successor.
