Can You Hear Me Now?
Here's a news flash: More teenagers are suffering from hearing loss (and you thought they were just ignoring you).
Actually, it's a sobering report from Boston researchers: one in five teens has hearing loss equivalent to that of a 50-or 60-year-old, a huge increase compared to adolescent hearing loss in the early 1990s.
Karen Weintraub, writing for The Boston Globe, says researchers aren't sure what's causing the hearing deterioration. But the answer seems to be pretty obvious if you've spent any time at all with a 15-year-old attached to his iPod.
