Today At 3: Radio Boston On The End Of Mouth-To-Mouth CPR

CommonHealth's Carey Goldberg and Dr. Aaron Baggish, director, Cardiovascular Performance Program, Massachusetts General Hospital discuss new guidelines for CPR on Radio Boston today at 3.

A study published in the October issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association adds evidence that the old way of doing CPR — mouth-to-mouth resuscitation coupled with chest compressions — is no longer necessary.

Since then, the American Heart Association has published new CPR guidelines urging everyone to learn the new “hands-only” method. We’ll learn more about this move to hands-only CPR and take your questions.

This program aired on December 14, 2010. The audio for this program is not available.
